Radical takes a clean sweep at Barber as teams from Illinois, Virginia and Florida take on PBOC’s best.
Chris Hall and his Drive For Success prepared SR8 was victorious in every race at Barber Motorsport Park in November as Radicals from all across America were put to the test in PBOC’s multi-discipline event.

Amongst a mix exotic equipment making up the 32 car field, Radical SR3 RSX and SR8 models fielded by teams from Illinois, Virginia and Florida rose to the top to dominate the three combined GT and prototype races.

Only the typical pitstop shuffle saw Chris Hall and co-driver Harry Blazer’s SR8 momentarily fall away from the top of the timing charts, as the duo comfortably won the endurance race from the Porsche GT3 Cup car of Steve Dimakos and pro Porsche pilot Bryan Sellers.

Finishing third was WISKO Racing’s Peter Heffring, who drove both stints to finish third outright in his SR3 RSX and earn Saturday’s ‘Drive of the Day’ trophy.

In the sister WISKO entry, the rookie Radical duo of Frank Marcum and Doug Smith took an impressive top six finish after starting ninth.

Radical again starred in Sunday’s two PBOC sprint races. The marque took five of the top six places in the first race with Hall (SR8 / Drive For Success / FL) winning from from Richard Thomas (SR3 RSX / WISKO / VA), Jeff Green (SR3 RS / Team Stradale / IL) and Heffring (SR3 RSX / WISKO / VA), while Eric Wagner (SR3 RSX / Team Stradale / IL) finishing sixth. Similarly four Radicals took out the four top spots in the second race, with the results reading Hall from Thomas, Green and Wagner.

Hall completed his clean sweep of the weekend by winning both of the Radical feature races. However, like in the combined events, it was again the pace of the SR3s which impressed amongst the V8 and V6 RXC entries, with the SR3 RSX of Thomas and the SR3 RS of Green taking second and third outright in each race.

In both features, Thomas was victorious in the 1500 class from Heffring and Marcum. Similarly Green led home Wagner in the 1340 class, while Howard Jacobs (RXC V6 / Foreign Affairs / FL) won the V6 class each day. Teammate Harry Blazer (RXC V8 / Drive For Success / FL) backed up Hall’s victories with two second-placed finishes in the V8 class.

In an exciting battle for fifth outright, Frank Marcum earned Sunday’s ‘Drive of the day' after fending off Eric Wagner for much of the second Radical race.

Radical Sportscars will join PBOC once again for their Winterfest event at Sebring International Raceway, January 20-24.
